This used to always happen to me! And gurlie suggested fertilising it and I tried it and it flowered again not long after

Peace lilies hate being thirsty., they like some sun but not full sun and some liquid fert now and again goes down a treat.

Was going to take a photo of mine, but it was all dusty and wilting in the sun     So took it outside and hosed it down / watered it

yep Pete thought you kept a Peace Lily wilted to make it flower     we hooked up together I started watering it with mine and hey presto flowers!!!

Mine actually seem to like full sun, they're not in it since Marcus came along (and we shifted into the house) and they haven't flowered since!

oh maybe I'm just too slack - in full sun means more watering   

or in my case, less flowering

Mine are the indicators for when everything else needs watering too

  likewise. they will often grow in low shade too! Man cubs one in his room is flowering under lower light - but my ones in the lounge are not - and they get more light! Have to admit, my ones are in the same pot mix for the last three years!    perhaps thats why

I have moved mine around to try and get the right spot, but nothing so far - and its a thirsty little bugger

and btw, did you know that it is good for absorbing radiation? I have mine by the tv a.t.m. and negativity, spiritually speaking

thats probably why it isn't doing so well
! Your've fried it!! Try talking to it ( and yes...it does work) threaten it to flower or it is composted !

Maybe it needs feeding after absorbing all that radiation?

Mine is in the spare room, so filtered light. I also am slack with watering, and usually when I notice its wilting I put it in the shower for an hour or so    (on cold of course!)

when did you last change the pot mix? I am slack at watering my plannts and use the peace lily as an indication of when I need to do it!    They are not norrmally too temperamental - and once they do well in one spot - DON'T MOVE THEM!!

This peace lily was given to me by Shell BP & Todd. approx 8 - yrs ago  ( Man time flies -I'm sure they'd be touched to know I've kept it and it is thriving, the bastards) 



apart from re potting it into a bigger pot a year or so after  I got it, I've done nothing but water it occasionally and quite clearly it needs feeding again

see those brown tips - those are signs of water stress - ie not enough

It is lacking something by the yellowiing in the leaves. The dry tips at the end indicate lack of water (consistently    ) You could easily re pot it up - but only to the next size pot. Don't get too carried away there marj. If you can leave it until spring  = do so. If not, pot now and don't touch the soil around the rootball. Just lift and plonk in bigger pot - then pack new soil around and a little on top. Spring would be better tho'

obviously more in spring/summer. but we have one plant at home with a new flower spike on it now! Poor things - gets so confused!

try sprinkling potash for the yellowing and more sun.

i put mine out in the rain from time to time and that seems to help. likes a good soak from time to time (plus it cleans the freaking leaves else they get dusty)

i find mine flowers better in a sunny spot but too hot will make it wilt.

Hah! I made a mistake and put mine out for a good soaking in the rain, but it got too wet and never dried out properly. I've had to cut off nearly all the leaves and am praying it recovers! Lucky we have lots of sun. I've had to put it out in full sun to try and dry it and move it around the house to maximise sunlight hours. I hope I save it. I've had this one for about 10 years and I don't want to lose it!!!

got any moss agate stone? put a piece in with it, or make an elixir and spray/water with it.

no. i've never heard of that! sounds interesting as a remedy. will look next time i'm at the markets

yes! root rot. was toying with pulling the plant out and repotting it

i have been placing it in warm areas and potting it on stilts so it can get air circulating at the bottom of the pot but i am not optimistic and i can't get my finger down far enough to see if it is still wet at the bottom. i don't want to disturb the roots too much but i need to know if it is dry down there!

what about inserting a chopstick/bamboo stick or something which will be able to indicate if its wet?

yes i've been trying that! and also sort of aerating the soil a bit so if it's not so heavily packed in it will dry
