but my new lappy has windows vista premium and much as i thort i found xp easy as i not finding vista that bad at all. But i guess they have had a bit of time to tweek it since it first came out to now.

I got a new lappy at christmas time and hubby replaced his computer early this year now we both have windows vista and it sucks    I don't like it at all I don't know why the change it so much

I've spent a grand total of probably 10 minutes on Vista myself, I didn't like it ... XP is much better, but I guess it's giving Linux a better chance now, as that's finally more user friendly than Windows thanks to Vista

All depends which one you have, I have Ubuntu on one machine, and Debian on another(TLP runs on a Debian server too), and they're so easy to use and keep updated, and everything 'just works' ... I had Red Hat Fedora a few years back, that was a pain, would randomly stop working due to corrupt settings, or the network would fail to initialise at startup and the whole thing would freeze

well he must have the Red Hat Fedora    I don't think there's a week goes by that he doesn't have trouble , but when it working well he loves it
