The biggest bentest unsportingingest sports event in one of the biggest bentest countries in the world.

I'll get more pleasure watching my kid play high school hockey.

i enjoy watching my kids play sports too. i also enjoy watching others doing their thing.

i never said i agree with whats going on....watching peeps winning is still entertaining.

and the opening ceremony should be entertaining too.

doesn't mean i wanna see some poor fool get worked over by an over zealous authority tho.

i'm trying to see the cup half full here.

Now....if you were to start a sweepstake on which country/sport would be first to a doping scandal, I'd watch, but prancing around with a ribbon on a stick doesn't fall within my definition of sport, nor do a whole heap of other fringe events.

If it can't attract a dozen spectators at my local sports centre, it certainly doesn't make my list of 'must-see television'.

im with dab here looking forward to it

there is a whole heap of sport i am not interested in.

but a whole lot i love watching

and funnily enough, my parents were always very proud watching my sports, which BTW included netball, soccer, rugby, volleyball and "prancing around with a ribbon on a stick"

"prancing around with a ribbon on a stick" is not a sport, and never will be.

We wont be watching here
Apart from the fact that westy doesnt believe its sport
if it doesnt have an engine, im not interested in
anything China has to offer, until they nicer to people
and alot nicer to animals
(poor westy hates it now,i always checking the "made By" tag )

thats a shame Franky...you'll miss some good stuff...including some of our best sports people to ever compete in an olympics.

i know what you say about the human/animal rights thing.

bear in mind that there are 1 billion peeps in China....and only a very few who call the shots in power.

so it's hard to judge a whole country by the actions of maybe .000000000000000001%(give or take) of the population.

Keep in mind big Bro like me but x100 in the gross stakes
and he had a hard time going to dinner and seeing
dogs in cages waiting for someone to pick them for dinner.

i know Franky...it's weird cus quite a few chinese see animals as food...and it's cruel for us to see that s**t happening to the poor critters.

but then on the flip side...there is a whole bunch of asians(pakistan etc) that see us eating/killing cows as wrong....strange old world.

and i bet if what the chinese chefs do to animals was compared to what some of our peeps do to their pets , on a per head of population we are probably far worse.

anyways....on with the games!!
