Ive just made my first ever Banana Cake with chocolate icing on the top, but It hasnt got all that much of a banana flavour...

Andria told me I should put an extra cup of banana in, which I did, so next time should I put 4 cups of banana in or some banana essence?

I don't use cups of banana, i just use 2 whole bananas and the browner the better

They need to be basically black - better taste.  Also, add in some chocolate buttons...they melt and oh wow. 


Now I want some banana cake.

Wait until the bananas are rotten before using. Fresh ones are s**t for baking.

I wait for mine to go black, then I freeze them, then I defrost them and use them. I only use 1 cup of bananas or 3 or 4 of those small bobby bananas.

That will be the prob then, they only had a couple of small bruises., I used 7 bobby bananas.
I think next time I bake, Ill come in here and ask first...

I love to cook, but Ive never been one to bake cakes etc, just buy them.
But I got a lot of bakeware for xmas, so I think people were hinting......lol

yep rottener the better as improves flavour and its more like a liquid contents as mine just has the 2 eggs and 2 tbls of milk its a bit lite on the liquid side.

I made on 2 days ago and have 2 more nanas now so need to make another one.

The kids eat it so quickly tho...

agree with cyll to some choc in it is dam yummy

or choc chips, no need to ice then either. Just dust over with a bit of icing sugar
