Ages ago I wrote about a game I have called F.E.A.R. which is like a strange mix of a first person shooter and The Ring (complete with nightmare sequences and a scary little long haired ghost girl).

One of the main things I loved about it was the AI is some of the best and most realistic I have ever seen, and I've always wondered why other gaming companies can't get on the ball in this regard. Instead of acting as stupid computer controlled characters, the enemies onm this game act freakily human, and the way they move in and around cover to flank you is impressive and freaky.

Then of course, there's the ability to move at hyper speed, which you experience as being able to slow time down ... you can leap through a door, fire shots at all the baddies in the room, then return time to normal and watch them all  suddenly find bullets in their faces that they weren't aware were there a second earlier

Well ... FEAR 2 is coming out this week!! It promises to continue with the best AI ever, even claiming to have advanced it some.

I can't wait to get it and play it, and will follow up with a review of sorts here
