You should cook them slightly - stew them a bit first.

I cheat and use the tinned apples mix in some kind of berries and cinamon - but it is a long time since I made one.  Ohh I want to make one now haha.

I always used a fab recipe for the crumble I got from manual at primary school  and we never stewed the apples first, just sliced them, layered, sprinkled sugar/cinnamon and put water in, then the topping.

depends how you like your apples?

throwing in a tin of peaches instead of apples is yum too!

Sometimes I stew my apples and sometimes I don't , apple crumble can be quiet nice when the apples are still a bit crunchy

Apples are not my favorite fruit especially cooked, so go with the pear idea just don't put any nutmeg in it.

ps: want a delivery address so I can let you know if it was good?

Tonighht I made a mixed crumble of tinned fruit.

Peaches apricots and a can of fruit salad. It is all gone!!!

I prefer the look of and taste of the crumble with slightly lumpy brown sugar gives a nicer darker look and crunch to it.

They sound yummy pinky can imagine they will go down a treat.
