earth is not home to me

« on: Fri 31 July, 2009 - 02:01 pm »

Premise:
Simon Baker stars as Patrick Jane, an independent consultant with the fictional California Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He has a remarkable track record for solving serious crimes by using his amazing skills of observation (reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes and Shawn Spencer, the protagonist of the TV series Psych on USA Network). He also makes frequent use of his mentalist abilities and his semi-celebrity past as a psychic medium using paranormal abilities he now admits he feigned. He abandoned his pretense out of remorse when his attention-seeking behavior attracted the attention of a serial killer who killed his family.

I'm going to see what its like. I do/did enjoy Psych but that is a comedy.

I like Simon Baker, pity that other show of his was cancelled - remember Farrah Fawcett guesting on it and she looked awful  eek

vaguely, I guess. More like a 'straight' version of the comedy Psych.

Seemed a bit odd that the introductory storyline ended so quickly  eek

Not bad aye  I liked the lack of 'showmanship' with the skills he uses.

and Hugh Lawrie, and that aussie guy who's on a cop show.

I remember hearing Hugh on David Letterman, and I thought he'd have a more upper-crust accent, but he didn't - sounded a bit strange  especially after playing Prince George

They did the kids dad for rape of a minor as well.
