...this has been happening to me for a while now, when I type a post it's all good, but when I hit the 'reply' button to reply to someone else's post the box I type in flickers and 'jumps' around and I can't read what I'm typing til I've finished typing it.

It happens every time.

Anyone know why?

okay, whatever application you're currently looking at, can you look at the help menu, and it should say 'About blah' which will tell you what you're using - As far as I know, Vista uses IE by default, so if you've not changed anything, you're using IE

and an update of theirs getting that 'compatibility view' button will fix it.

the blurb about it: Websites designed for older browsers will often look better and problems such as out of place menus, images or text will be corrected.

Adding 'compatibility view' to IE would be like buying a Lada, fitting it with a spoiler and trying to race it against a Ferrari best just to get a decent browser

Funny how they use the term 'older browsers', IE's problems are with displaying sites made for new browsers, IE has in fact single-handedly slowed the evolution of the web due to not supporting new features, so everybody has to dumb down their sites for IE users

I did look twice at their terming of old browsers too and wondered about that but I don't know nearly enough.

You're right, having just done some extensive testing, it only happens when I'm replying to someone who has moving icons in their post
