« on: Sat 28 November, 2009 - 03:53 pm »

anybody remember when this was first on?  I was a kid, and remember that I quite liked it, looked on wiki and it said it was made 84 and 85, must've gotten here years later as I don't think it's something my mum would have let me watch when I was 9&10

It's going to be on Wednesday TV2

Quote
Giant spaceships appear over 29 major cities throughout the world, and Anna (Morena Baccarin), the beautiful and charismatic leader of the extra-terrestrial "Visitors," claims to come in peace. As a small number of humans begin to doubt the sincerity of the seemingly benevolent Visitors, FBI counter-terrorism agent Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell) discovers that the aliens have spent decades infiltrating human governments, businesses, and religious institutions and are now in the final stages of their plan to take over the world. Erica joins the resistance movement, which includes Ryan (Morris Chestnut), a Visitor sleeper agent who wants to save humanity. However, the aliens have won favor among the people of Earth by curing a variety of diseases, and have recruited Earth's youth — including Erica's son Tyler (Logan Huffman) — to serve them unknowingly as spies.[2]

here's the synopsis from wiki

I remember it, and it was shown at least a few years later than 83-84... more like late 80's

this new V sounds like a sequel to the original rather than a remake...  eek

Apparently there was a mini-series before the tv series, and the new one is based on the original mini-series

I just remember the lizard tongues and the *aliens* eating budgies... or was it sparrows?
