It's not just a river in Egypt

My web designer gave me the photoshop files for my website

I've edited the bits I want to change BUT I can't work out how to save only part of the file . He's given me one psd file that has my website header and footer all in one file.

It has 2 blue lines which divide the file into 3 sections. When I go to the save file for web images it saves the whole thing. How do I get it to just save the header part or the footer part. I hate photoshop. It does such cool things but it takes me hours to work out how to get it to do cool stuff

The blue lines are slices I think, just how it's conceptually divided, or if exported to HTML, how the images will be cut up - I usually do that in Image Ready though, you just "Save optomized as" > "HTML" or something like that

Ok I'll try that.

I didn't think of exporting it to HTML I just tried saving as web image. I'll try your tips when I get back onto the other PC

OK I sorted it

thanks for saying they are slices. with google i managed to find a tutorial. turns out i needed to turn the slices on or something and then they save fine as 3 separate images. phew!
