This might seem a strange request but bear with me.... Do any of you know of a system that enables the clean up to.  isolate recordings and enhance them off a digital voice recorder? I have downloaded adobe auditions but it is so complex I haven't got a clue how to use it. I have captured several evp's (don't scoff)! I have an idea of what a few of them say but am stumped by others. I want a programme that is fairly idiot proof and easy to use which can be downloaded free. I have also downloaded audacity but that is as bad.

I use audacity. depending on the format you may also need to download lame (also free) to convert back to mp3 files.

audacity is easy to use and has a pretty good wiki for help
