Donnie Darko? I highly recommend it. Has both Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal (playing brother and sister). Donnie is a teenager with a few issues; on meds and seeing a shrink. He often goes for wanders at night, wakes up asleep a few miles away, and comes back home. His family worry about that a bit, but don't know what to do. One night, a voice tells Donnie to wake up. He follows the voice out to the street in the dark. There, he finds what is obviously a 6 foot man in a demonic-looking bunny suit, calling himself Frank, who tells Donnie that in about 28 days, the world will end. That night, an engine falls off a plane and plunges into Donnie's bedroom, smashing it all to bits. The family all fear the worst, but sure enough, Donnie wakes up miles away and comes home to find everyone outside, the FAA making them sign waivers not to talk about what happened.

And it gets really weird after that eek

I hate movies where you can tell the plot-line 3 seconds after they begin, so I really find movies like DD refreshing. If you like oddball stuff, give Donnie Darko a try. You might like it

Deby has never really seen many movies, so I am giving her a movie education - went through some Quentin Tarantino ones, some Cohen Brothers ones; even showed her all 3 Spiderman ones

What did you make of the whole story - the TU thingy and everything. Did Donnie save the universe?
