My battery hasnt enough juice to power the laptop on its on, my power icon says 49% available (plugged in, not charging)...So Its always plugged in via electrical outlet but still says the % available (plugged in not charging)

I guess this means I have to go buy a new battery or the laptop wont even work via power cord?

It shouldn't show the amount left in the battery if it's plugged in - as long as it keeps going while plugged in, you have nothing to worry about, replace your battery if it's important to have it running on battery

personally, I always plug my laptops in when at home, so the battery is like new whenever I need it to be on battery

Thats the thing, I dont use it off the powercord, Its always plugged in, but It seems to be draining the battery.

Might be a probbie with the connection, like, if it can no longer tell that it's plugged in, or isn't actually making a connection at the socket (puter end). Try cleaning the power cord poky bit with a clean cloth, and lightly blowing into the jack on the puter to dislodge any interferring dust, then try again. If it's not dust and a bad connection, the cord might be poked, or a connection past the input jack inside the puter. Those jacks sometimes get a bit of rough treatment with people moving lappies about when plugged in
