Don't see what all the fuss is about the 2 cups.
Makes sense to have a replica when the original is getting on in years.

The marketing of the touring cup as the cup was dodgey though.

One girl, two cups?

Needs Lisa Lewis to make it suitably sleazy.

and while we're talking about it
I was talking to someone today who had just been to see the "cloud" party central, they were very impressed with it and described it as a mini NZ expo showcasing the best of the best from all over the country. they were very pleasantly surprised by the whole thing.
might not be quite the white elephant we (or at least i ) was expecting

I hope the all blacks get smashed and dont make to the final, then watch all the rugby dorks mope around like depressed zombies crying themselves to sleep everynight, domestic violence will sky rocket the suicide rate will jump, the economy will tank again, doctors will be prescribing anti depressants by the bucketful, sky tv shares will drop as ughby fans lose faith and cancel their subscriptions, the only winners will be the booze barons as the drongos try to drown their misery in cheap piss  yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh

There's been plenty of hyperbole about rugby over the last few weeks. Expect a lot more over the next few, and expect it to be just as crass.

I f**king hate rugby.

Grew up with the f**king crap....My stepdad was a ref so we would have to go to all the games that he was reffing at all over southland and central, and when he wasnt reffing, he would be watching all the f**king videos he had, huge black and green collection of rugby games....
All my family are right into rugby and the f**king cricket, Id rather watch all the pissed c**ts leaving the pub and laughing at them when they are spewing in the gutter.

The opening ceremony was fantastic!

The Tongans war dance thing was a lot more strength in energy than the All Blacks.....Now to turn the tv over.

opening ceremony was spectacular    and not too long and boring either.
The speeches by the suits were blessedly short.

The game itself was ho-hum, the AB's had lost a bit of mojo in the second half...though SBW made a few good passes towards tries...his detractors will be soooooo pissed off...and he had to change his top during the game...

The bit with the rugby playing kid was cool too, and I liked how the fireworks display was spread across the Auckland CBD and wasn't just people looking up saying 'wow', it was a city wide fireworks show, never seen anything like it

Opening ceremonies have been done to death. Every time there's a 'major' sporting event, some ninny steps forward to throw s**tloads of government money at a 'spectacular' show of

massed choreography,
soo cited soo cited :cited:pretentious mime, and
  fireworks.

It's a great diversion for the dribbly-drawered librarians and dotty old grannies who wouldn't otherwise be interested, but it has f**k-all to do with rugby.

grumpy old sod.
it was a good opening ceremony, showcasing the country for the world and all it's tourist dollars.
but the fireworks certainly seemed to be the same as always and a lot of repetition in style, they need to invent a new type.

The IAAF World  Championships were held a couple of weeks ago. Did you watch their opening ceremony?
Come to that, can you name the city and country that it was held in without resorting to Google?
