We have a family visiting us from Chatham Islands, who have cooked weka and watercress for us for lunch today...I never tried weka before so it's a bit exciting Smiley

In between chicken and duck really most likely cause its a bit gamy compared to chicken. I can say I've tried it now.

Haven't the stomach for mutton bird but weka is a bit greasy and can be a bit stringy.

I haven't tried Mutton birds - smelt them cooking and that was it for me lol. Weka is not salty though, didn't find it stringy was bit of fat around it, but tasted fine.
