I'd never go on that f**king thing again - I caught one from Wellington to Hamilton once, the overnight one, was still only supposed to take 8 hours I think, it lost power at Waiouru in the middle of June and limped all the way to Hamilton, emergency lighting on so nobody could sleep, and absolutely freezing as the heating required electricity, they gave us woollen survival blankets, but still didn't help much going through a snowy National Park in sub-zero temperatures, coldest I've been in my life, took 12 hours all up and the :c**t: s wouldn't give a refund or an apology eek

Awww - I have many fond memories of the Northener. I remember one time having to jump on as it was leaving Hamilton cause we were running late - I was so nervous I started laughing hysterically and couldn't stop.
