Obi Wan Kanobi said. "I have never seen such a wretched hive of scum and villainy." Little did Obi Wan realize he was describing the National party.

My younger brother keeps applying. He's gone to uni to do science to better his odds.

I told him if he loves me, he'll get in, go postal on the flight, and cannibalize the rest of the crew. Biggest. Ratings. EVER. eek

Not sure why you'd want to live out your existence inside a building on another planet

Why not? We're all going to die. Knowing the end is a bit more definite is worth it for some being able to actually live on another planet, one of the first humans to ever do that.

They want people that would make the TV show interesting. Ever watched Jeremy Kyle? I'm sure everyone here has something to offer

For me if it were a holiday, a few months, a year or whatever, I'd be keen, but who would really want to live out their days in conditions of the coldest most miserable winter you could imagine, sun half the size with next to no warmth in it, only positive I could imagine would be the night sky would be stunning

A lot of people forget that in history, many of the 'first' explorers to places often risked what was, at the time, a certain death to achieve their goal. Even the first astronauts - and in fact, every astronaut since the first - are risking their lives. And if this does eventuate, it might set the scene for the future of space exploration being funded privately. That's what featured in the whole Alien movie franchise. A major company was behind all of the human space travellers' expeditions.
