Today in the greenhouse I planted
•         Red and Gold Purslane
•         Giant Russian Sunflowers
•         Cocozelle Bush Courgettes
•         Kholrabi
•         Cucumbers
•         Sugarloaf Chicory
•         Touchstone gold Beetroot
•         Red Kuri Pumpkins
•         Great lakes lettuce
•         Sugar snap Peas
•         Carrots in the garlic garden
•         Choco’s in a big pot

So this is just the start of the garden -and of course a few seedlings for friends and family...

I also have some red corn that  I grew last year wich I will start soon too

Just need some clear days to dry the garden enough to till it over a few times then add another 80-100 bags of horse s**t in there and some rock dust etc to get the soil up and running

Spring?     There was winter?

 yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh

I couldn't resist. Spring  Bulbs of all sorts dying in plastic bags at the warehouse, going very cheaply, so I bought 75 of them and stuffed them into a container of pilfered sandy dirt to save as many as I could.

I wonder if they have broken into blossom at my place too ... Or if the poor trees all died, of flood drowning or vicious frosts....

I like your way of thinking collie.  re: bulbs.

I have heaps of flanders field poopys to plant grew them from seed in my little one window hothouse over winter, unfortunately I have yet to make my way into the garden...but it's coming and once I get geared up theres no stopping me, I have been buying seedling mix and potting mix and sheep s**t so I'm getting there slowly.

Lettuce, peas, celery, beetroot, kamokamo, beans, swan plants, our monarch caterpillars ran out of plant last year so fed them pumpkin but the butterflies had deformed wings so we're going to plant heaps this year and hope they don't go hungry.

Do you grow sunflowers from seed into seedlings and then plant? Someone told me put seeds straight into the ground we did that last year but the birds dug them up and ate them, so I'm going to try planting from seedlings this year.

My sisterinlaw has the bug now we've spent the day looking at vertical gardens - I'd like to do some over by the chookstead.

Are you going to build them out of old pallets?  I'm sure that there are a number of great vertical garden designs that are practically free to build out there

I saw some with strawberries, and another with herbs in them

Yep, looks the easiest cheapest option for a trial run, will be keeping an eye out for free pallets.

Go to a white ware appliances store, and ask for one of their big plastic bags ( that cover a fridge or whatever) then make a bamboo frame for it ... From pilfered bamboo from where ever.
Nap some baling twine from some random farmer and you're set to make you own plastic greenhouse.
