Carnations and roses have always been my favourites. Roses probably have been cos they remind me of my grandma. Gloxinia's are my all time indoor fav's.

I didn't know you could put gloxinia's inside. I want to get those pretty indoor begonia's.

Carnations are what I plant to remind me of my grandad (his favourites), and I have a Daphne bush cause my nana was Daphne. She grew the best peas for xmas - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

My Grandfather and I would sit among his peas and eat while we talked when I was a wee kid one or 3 years ago.

I was really naughty one year cause I went down to the garden and was just pigging out on the raw peas, not realising just how much I was eating, until my nana went to collect some.....oops, sorry nana.

I have just been planting some seeds in home-made mini-greenhouses  Angel , fingers crossed big-time that they work..

I got egg cartons, seed-raising mix, large plastic bags and a variety of seeds. Mostly veg but a couple of flowers have snuck in

oh, to have half of my nana's green thumbs
my great-grandad had a commercial orchard in Hamilton many moons ago, I believe where the Melville shops are now - AND its in the archives that he won some prize for growing veg in the (like) A&P show way way back!

so in theory I should have inherited a green thumb or two.....

had been spraying ragwort this morning and decided to grab some more tyres from up the hill for my potatoes..   Just been and placed them on top of the first tyres and OMG!!!!

Loads of my plants are water deprived/heat exhausted!!!!!!

So have just set up my sprinkler and am providing 'first aid water relief'    Stuff the sun.... will accept a few burnt leaves, rather than dead plants by tonight!!!!!

my flower garden would have a mass profusion of flowers if I actaully managed to look after it.....

Why is it that weeds are soooo sneaky and quite often take on the 'look' of the vege growing right next to it...... eek

my gardens (vegies) are finally looking good!  They get watered twice a day, have no room to plant anything else but at least 3 potatoes will be coming out in a week or 2!

a bit short of pots too

Did just read in the local rag that old Wally whats his name the gardening freak plants a lot in pots etc and those polestyrine trays, might try to find some of them and do the smaller things like carrots, spring onions etc in them to save the room outside for the potatoes and pumpkins etc...

I dug up 2 potato plants the other day, had to we'd run out LOL.  A couple of weeks early so they're still a bit puny, but seeing the price of taties in the shop now I think I'll be digging up more when we run out too!

On a plus side I now have 4 tomato plants planted in where they came out!

I don't have a veggie garden at my new place. It's impossible to grow everything in pots. I will have 4 tomatoe plants in pots though.
