Anyone else put pineapple in their macaroni? Been cookin it like that for years now, and get a few odd looks when i say i do it. Have only had one person say it was 'ok' but they prefer without, the rest were surprised how nice it tasted.

recipe   please
hi fraggles.
i just make the mac cheese like it says on back of diamond pasta packet but once i have it all mixed in i mix in a tin of diced pineapple(drained or its too runny! found that out the hard way lol. first meal i made for partner at the time and it was a disaster. i cried in the bathroom and he ate it to prove it was ok and didn't matter )
then just cook it as usual.
depending on how much u are making a tin may be too much, so add what u think ..u can tell if it looks too much.

btw..tin is a 425g, and don't use crushed...its not as nice
when i'm trialling it on visitors i make a normal one too and get them to try, that way if they don't like pineapple, or don't like it in the mac cheese i have a standby

years ago i used to think pineapple on pizza was disgusting...i mean why would you have your meat and fruit in the same dish???
but have changed my mind since then. i think you'll either love it or hate it

Never done it with pineapple. But love macaroni cheese with bacon and tomato. My mum taught me several ways of serving it. I like to cook it normally in a pot and then place it in a roasting dish with breadcrumbs and cheese on top.
