Just wondering if you know how to reset the administrator password when you cant get onto windows?

Basically my desktop pc wont turn on, well itll turn on but brings up the screen with

"start in:

safe mode, safe mode with networking, command promt, last known good config or start windows normally."

None of those options work, so I've put my recovery disk in and want to run a repair in the recovery console but its asking me for the administrator password and I have absolutely no idea what it is. Im sure I set it but its not what I though it was.

Can I change this/get past it somehow?

I dont know my BIOS one either - which im thinking will be the same.

I dont want to reformat preferably coz Ive got lots of stuff on it I havent backed up *tisk tisk*. I will if I have to but Id rather save that for last resort kinda stuff.

no last time it was to get the windows log on password...for my mum coz my sister had changed it.

which we didnt end up using your link coz we found a link which was real basic so my mum could understand it

I dunno what was going on but none of the startup options were working at all after numerous attempts, then all of a sudden on it went.

Im gonna go buy an external HD for back up...ya know - save everything (well copies) to that and then unplug it and pop it in a cupboard ;lool
