Thought this f**king thing started this morning

Then just googled this

The new Paul Henry breakfast show may not be on air until after Easter.

MediaWorks has been promoting the new Paul Henry breakfast show as a key part of its 2015 line up on both TV and radio.

But the show is not expected to be ready to launch for the start of the new season.

Spokesperson Rachel Lorimer declined to comment on when the Henry show would be launched on TV3 and RadioLive.

The combined radio and TV show was announced last October.

According to MediaWorks sources, three months later there is still a lot to do and a launch is predicted in March or April.

TV3 news show Firstline will run until the Henry show is ready.

RadioLive breakfast host Marcus Lush finished at the end of last year.

Mark Sainsbury took over this week and is telling listeners he was on a three month contract.

Lorimer said that Sainsbury's comment about a three month contract did not mean that was when the new Henry show started.

She did not rule out the Henry show starting before the three months are up.

"I'm not saying when it will start. We will advise that when it is the right time," said Lorimer.

She said that the Henry breakfast show had not been delayed and a later start just illustrated the fact that development did not get underway until late in 2014.

I guess it's taking him longer to get some funny material than he thought it would, or he's wanting more
money than he's actually worth. It would be nice if he didn't try so hard to be some sort of 80's shock jock.

of course he's real, but he just tries too hard sometimes, and he always laughs at his own jokes, even those
he doesn't say and just thinks about while smirking at the camera.

something like that.

He's past his use by date, like Benny Hill he just isn't funny anymore.

Benny Hill still is still clever comedy. It's amazing what we got away with back in the day.

Nah, me and some friends sneaked out at night(we were about 14 or 15) and went to see our other friend, we thought we'd sneak up to his window and give him a fright, he didn't have curtains and had his TV on watching Benny Hill, we went up to bang on the window and lets say he was pretty excited over what he was watching, we cracked up laughing, he went mental over us sneaking up to his window like that so we told everybody at school :p he was known as Benny after that, didn't want to be our friends after that for some reason

The debut of Paul Henry's much anticipated and advertised breakfast show doubled the television ratings of its predecessor.

The old timeslot for news show Firstline was usurped by Paul Henry on Tuesday, and occurring every weekday from 6am to 9am.

The new show drew in an average number of 35,130 in the early morning slot of 6am to 7am (in comparison to Firstline's 17,840 the week before), according to Throng.

Lets see what the numbers are like in two months from now

Paul Henry's new MOVIE  :ohok:

Quote
For two years Paul Henry has been sitting on a strange, fascinating secret. For a few months in between being fired in Australia and hired at TV3, he snuck off and starred in a film called The Desk, which is about to have its world premiere at the Florida Film Festival.

It sounds mad. He’s a host, not an actor. He’s just launched his groundbreaking new multi-platform morning show. How could this possibly be anything more than some sick joke? But I can assure you, it’s all true. The film is called The Desk and opens at the Florida Film Festival at midday on Saturday (Sunday here in New Zealand). It’s “the absolutely true story of Andrew Goldman, a New York Times journalist who makes a short film about an outrageous New Zealand talk show host named Paul Henry. In the process, Goldman’s life and career implodes before his very eyes”.

Only, it’s no short film – while the project began that way, it’s ended up as a full-blown 90 minute feature film. Paul Henry’s first. In the trailer, Goldman describes Henry as “the most confident person I’ve ever met. And that’s why I can blame him for ruining my life.”

We’ve embedded it below. It looks pretty bloody entertaining, and features both Richard Simmons and Ron Jeremy.

MediaWorks appears to be getting poor returns for its big investment in Paul Henry.

The show has been hovering at less than one per cent share of its target demographic.

According to AC Neilsen ratings for the target audience of people aged 25-54 on April 29, Henry drew 0.9 per cent.

On Thursday, April 30 it went to a rating of 0.5 per cent of the target audience and on Friday, May 1 it reached 0.6 and fell to 0.3 ratings points this past Monday.

Audience numbers for breakfast TV are typically low - by comparison TVNZ's Breakfast attracted between 2.1 and 2.8 per cent of the same key demographic.

Paul Henry - which runs from 6 am to 9am and is simulcast on TV3 and RadioLive - was launched on April 7 as a big initiative by Mediaworks to take a slice of the morning television and radio market.

But despite heavy promotion, the breakfast TV show has yet to take off and the company is not releasing internal research that it says shows the radio show is doing well.

There are currently no formal radio ratings.

But as TV3 prepares to launch Story, Paul Henry, one of the network's other news big hitters, must be feeling a bit sore on the ratings front.

It appears TV One's Breakfast show is not the only programme he is struggling to knock off in the battle for ratings supremacy in the morning television market. Figures released to Spy by Nielsen New Zealand reveal the Paul Henry Show, was out-rated by children's favourite Sesame Street at least three times this month. The likes of Big Bird, Elmo, and Mr Snuffleupagus out-rated Henry on June 5, 10 and 11; on the latter, 34,400 tuned into Sesame Street while just 25,900 watched the Paul Henry Show.

Henry's biggest morning news rival Breakfast had an average daily viewership of 115,000 last week.

A MediaWorks spokeswoman said: "We are very happy with Paul Henry's ratings, which are continuing to rise. Paul Henry is chipping away at Breakfast in the last hour of the show, and picking up more viewers monthly."

Being compared to Sesame Street is not flattering is it

Is it just based on people watching it on TV though?  Many may watch online or listen on the wireless, there's always a lot of activity on Social Media, perhaps ratings aren't even valid for stuff like this

TV1 Breakfast is crazy boring and they have an online feed as well apparently.

TV1 is a f**king catastrophe and ratings are probably still done through those old
boxes that sit in 'sample homes'
