Do not try to do an egg, a whole egg in fact as the main filling.

Also, a bad idea to do the said egg toastie with one of those makers that have the triangle duffers so that the bread is cut down the middle for you.

See, I thought today....I have bread, an egg and a tomato.  A brain wave during a much needed lunch break at work.

So, I do the prep work on the bread, slice the tomato and then I am ready to break open the egg however instead of sitting in the middle like I thought it would (major Irish blonde bimbo today - sorry for the Irish - sorry for the blondes and sorry for the bimbos).  I am actually Irish, have blonde hightlights and can at times love the idea of being a bimbo.

Anyway, I am babbling again......the damn stupid egg in it's perfect form slid off my piece of bread and because the bench was so clean and slick it slid off the bench and onto the floor where the dog (office hound who is such a softie but a lab and they can eat) sucked the bugger up.

So, an egg and a sambo maker do not make a perfect couple.  Ohhh and for those wondering, in our family (Irish), a sandwich is called a sambo.  Don't ask why for it is a long story to be sure, to be sure.

They laugh at me at work.

try cooking the egg a little bit first next time maybe?

Something's always coming you can hear it in the ground, It swells into the air
With the rising, Rising sound
And never comes but shakes the boards and rattles all the doors

What are we waiting for?

I do egg toasted sammies all the time, the trick is to ensure sandwich maker is dead flat, some have a tilting thingee on them.  Then put a slight dip in the bread with egg or whatever.  You then carefully break egg and place on bread, carefully placing top slice of bread on.

Good Luck next time

I used to love egg and cheese toasted sandwiches. I hate them in sandwich pressers though, they taste so much different.
